Farmer Fridays:
Celebrating Those who Feed Us

At the heart of our Ecology Camps is a simple yet powerful tradition we call Farmer Fridays — a weekly celebration dedicated to recognizing and honoring the farmers who nourish our community and care for the land.

Each Friday, our campers take a pause from their usual activities to reflect on the vital role farmers play in our everyday lives. Through hands-on, heart-forward experiences, we help young people build a deeper connection to the food they eat, the soil it grows in, and the people who make it all possible.

What Happens on Farmer Fridays?

From thank-you notes to baked goods, lemonade stands to harvesting help — our campers create and give back in thoughtful, joyful ways. Some of our weekly traditions include:

Harvest Help: We join farmers in the field to help with the harvest.

Lemonade Stands: Campers set up stands to offer free lemonade and handmade treats to farmers.

Thank-You Notes: Every child writes a personal letter to a farmer, expressing appreciation for their hard work.

Homemade Bakes & Gifts: We prepare and deliver small tokens of appreciation to our farmers.

Farmer Spotlights: Farmers share their stories and help campers understand how food gets from farm to table.

Farmer Fridays are more than just a fun activity — they’re a celebration of community, stewardship, and connection. It’s our way of planting seeds of gratitude in the next generation, one Friday at a time.

No farmers, no food!

Thank you, farmers!
