What Sets Our Programs Apart
About Us
We create space for kids to explore, play, and grow—outdoors and on their own terms.
Our programs are centered around hands-on learning, nature-based exploration, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activities, all set in the natural world. Whether it’s a week of summer camp, a one-day workshop, or an afterschool adventure, our goal is the same: to spark curiosity, encourage independence, and let kids be kids.
Summer Camps
Our summer camps take place at the UVM Horticultural Research Farm, a beautiful outdoor setting where we spend the entire day outside—rain or shine.
Camps are designed to strike a balance between structured activities and free play. We believe that unstructured time is just as important as guided learning. Free play allows kids to build independence, solve problems, make decisions, and stretch their imaginations—all while having fun in nature.
While we do offer hands-on activities, we avoid over-scheduling the day. Kids need space to explore and follow their own curiosity. A typical day might include:
Scavenger hunts and outdoor games
Nature-based arts and crafts
Chemistry and STEAM experiments
Ecology explorations
Microscopy and observation
Creative building and collecting
Each day is shaped by the kids, the weather, and the environment around us.
Other Offerings
In addition to summer camps, we offer a variety of year-round opportunities for learning and play:
Pop-Up Workshops: One-time or short series programs focused on specific themes on weekends and breaks during the school year.
Private Group Events (for kids): Custom-designed nature experiences for birthday parties, homeschool groups, or other special gatherings.
Afterschool Programs: Reach out to learn about sessions that bring lessons to local schools and communities.
Hire a Naturalist: Guiding for nature walks and hikes available for all ages.
These programs follow the same guiding principles as our camps: lots of outdoor time, a mix of guided and open-ended exploration, and plenty of room to wonder, wander, and make connections.
